Tae
Kwon Do Classes
Martial
Arts training may never be needed to win
a fight or foil a mugging, but how about Tae Kwon Do to secure self-esteem,
self-confidence and athletic excellence or to gain a positive "yes, I
can" attitude for life. This may very well translate into success in
ones school work, one's chosen field, or in ones family life, etc..
The Kerrville branch of Highest Intention's Tae Kwon Do, owned
and operated by Master Richard White and his wife Diane, is located in the
River Hills Mall. It is part of a group of Martial Arts schools teaching the
traditional Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do in the United States and abroad
for more than fifty years.
Master Richard White, having taught Tae Kwon
Do professionally in and around the Kerrville area since 1986, is the Chief
Instructor of Tae Kwon Do in Kerrville and lets his students know from
the outset that the training goes beyond jumping, kicking, punching, and breaking
boards and bricks, to the development of the inner self. The main tenets are
courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Master White is also quick to point out that the power to break boards and bricks does not
come from some "mystical source". The secret is hard work, dedication
and a working knowledge of physics. Concentration, reaction force, breathing
control, balance and speed are the five essential elements of power in Tae
Kwon Do.
Men, women and children of all ages including
many athletes train in Tae Kwon Do because it develops them mentally as well
as physically. The conditioning involves movement of the entire body stressing
coordination and agility.
Master White,
training directly under Grand Master Sin II Choi, is a 6th Degree Tae
Kwon Do Black Belt Master Instructor certified under the Tang Soo do, Moo
Duk Kwan Association headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The Moo Duk Kwan
has the longest history and is the largest of all the Tae Kwon Do families,
reaching into over forty countries.There
are an estimated three hundred thousand practitioners in the U. S. alone.
Master White also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Exercise Science, an Associate degree in Japanese Language and Arts, is
a professional athletic trainer, a registered massage therapist, and has been
both a student and instructor of the martial arts at home and abroad since
1978. He personally conducts or otherwise directly supervises all classes
at the centers.
Master White's Tae Kwon Do studios of Central Texas are owned and operated by
Highest Intentions a company formed by Master White and his wife Diane to
offer the most diverse selection of therapies and arts for the mind, body
and spirit. Registration
for membership is ongoing (students may join at anytime).
